skype and facebook finally united


Internet telephony service Skype said Thursday that the software will allow users to make video calls to their Facebook friends and get them.
Free feature, released Thursday in a version of Skype "beta" test software for Mac and PC, the expansion of existing partnerships between the companies.

Since July, Facebook allows users with webcams on their computers to push Skype video calls on social networking sites do. And it is already possible with a friend Facebook chat via Skype instant messaging features, although there is no video component.


Skype allows users to make calls, make video chats and instant messages sent via the Internet. The basic service is free, while users pay for services such as regular phone to call from a computer.
Jonathan Rosenberg, head of technology strategy for Skype, said the company wanted to help a billion people to communicate, especially with the video. Using Facebook "is really bringing us one step closer to this goal," he said.
Facebook, based in Palo Alto, has more than 800 million users around the world. Skype, based in Luxembourg, has more than 170 million.
Skype was acquired by Microsoft Corp.. $ 8500000000 in the beginning of this year. Microsoft has a small share of Facebook
